There are only a few good Places exist in India which is suitable for Paragliding and no doubt Bir is one of them. a beautiful village situated in the west of Joginder Nagar Valley in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 2000 mtr. Because of lower hills, It is an ideal landing ground for para-gliders. Bir is famous for its various Buddhist monasteries & Tibetan colony which are worth visiting. The Tibetan colony is one of the earliest Tibetan refugee colony in India and was established in 1962 by those who opposes the Chinese invasion of Tibet. The most famous monastery in Bir is Chokling Monastery, which has a large stupa and a statue of Padmasambhava.
Billing (2600m) is just 14 km distant from Bir. A rock road connects Bir to Billing and one can trek from Bir to Billing on foot. The nearest railway station is Ahju, on the narrow-gauge line running between Pathankot and Jogindernagar via Kangra. Billing is also renowned for being the venue of the first paragliding competition and every year, The Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Himachal Pradesh organizes the ‘Para Gliding Pre-world Cup’ at Bir-Billing in the month of October.

NOTE:

How to Reach Bir and Billing:

1. By Air:  Air India and Spicejet fly from Delhi to Dharamsala daily, Fare vary from 4,000 to 7,000 depends upon timing. Dharamsala Airport is situated in a town called Gagal, a few kms outside Dharamsala. you can hire a taxi from there to Bir. It will take atmost about 2 hours. 
2. By Road: Option 1: (BUS) There are several overnight deluxe and volvo buses starts from Delhi for Dharamsala and Manali. If you board in a bus for Dharamsala you just need to get off at Kangra (about 50 km from Bir), and from Kangra you can either hire a Taxi or go with a local bus to Bir. If you take a bus for Manali you will need to get off at Mandi(about 70km from Bir) from here too you can take a taxi or local bus. 
   Option 2: (TAXI) The fastest way to get to Bir from Delhi is to take a taxi direct from the airport, its a long drive of 12 hours, but this way you will reach directly to Bir.
3. By Train: There are several overnight trains between Delhi and Pathankot. You will need to get off the train at Pathankot. From there its easy to get a taxi to Bir (about 4 hours).
4. Best Time to Visit Bir Billing : March to May before the monsoon & September to November.

Changing Himalayan weather patterns can also dictate that itinerary be changed from time to time., landslides on the way, strikes or political movements could also affect the original itinerary. The tour leader who is traveling with you will do everything in his capacity to ensure best possible service and minimize inconvenience of any nature. Cancellation between 10-0 Days of Trip Start - No refund
In case This Trip gets cancelled cause of natural phenomenon or any other reason beyond our control, we shall arrange for alternative trip If the participant is unwilling to go for the alternative trip, there would be no refund or no voucher issued.
