Kashmir Backpacking Trip

Arrive by flight to Srinagar in the morning & transfer to houseboat. A famous tourist place in Kashmir is the serene city of Srinagar. Home to the beautiful Shalimar Bagh; You can spend the morning admiring acres of exotic flowers. Enjoy a local Kashmiri lunch. and head out for a Shikara ride for 1 hour (gondola boat), ride across the pristine Dal Lake and enjoy the water-life of Srinagar. Visit the local crafts market and explore the town of Srinagar. Enjoy your dinner & Stay overnight at Houseboat.

A skier’s paradise, Gulmarg is a must-visit spot in every tourist’s Kashmir itinerary. Enjoy a full-day trip to Gulmarg or the "Meadow of Flowers" which is located at an altitude of 8700-ft. The place is known for its Ski Resort and the world's highest 18-hole Golf Course. Gulmarg is a paradise for adventure buffs. Stop for lunch at one of the local dhabas and You can go for a Cable Car Ride or a Gondola ride. We will return to Srinagar for dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast we will travel towards Sonmarg, a hill station located to the northeast of Srinagar, is another popular tourist place in Kashmir. Set at an altitude of 9186 feet against scenic meadows and a clear blue sky, the name literally translates to ‘Meadow of Gold’. After lunch, do check out the Kheer Bhawani Temple located in the middle of a natural spring and the Gadsar Lake that is at 16,400 feet and remains frozen throughout the year. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains and alpine flowers, Enjoy dinner & stay at Sonmarg.

After morning breakfast, we will start our journey for Yusmarg. A less explored place in Kashmir means “The Meadow of Jesus”. It is an alpine valley covered with snow clad mountains and the meadows of Pine and Fir. Nature has bestowed Yoususmarg with pleasant flora and fauna. Among fauna, locals claim that they often sight wolves, bears, apes, cats, aves of various types. We will have our lunch on the way at some local Dhaba & we will visit Doodh Ganga on our way.

Today we will start our journey towards Pahalgam, a lovely tourist spot in Kashmir also address as Valley of Shepherds. on the way visit Saffron fields, Avantipur ruins and Anantnag sulphur spring. Pahalgam is the most famous place for Indian Film Industry. Enjoy the nature charm of the valley. Pahalgam is also famous for its alpine treks, nature walk and is also the central point of Amaranth Yatra. Night stay in Pahalgam.

At a distance of only 15 km from Pahalgam is Chandanwari, a glacier point and the starting point of the sacred Amarnath Yatra. Located at an elevation, it’s an offbeat destination to stop and have breakfast in the lap of nature. Visit beautigul Betaab valley on the way. then we will drive towards Aru valley a small village near Pahalgam which is around 12 km journey with a lush green valley, flowing river. we reach our hotel. After having “Kashmiri Kava”, hop in for 2 hours trek to Green top Point and interact with the local community of shepherds. The day ends with dinner and campfire.

Today we will go for an early morning day trek to other side of Aru valley called The lidderwat valley, valley is ten kilometers from main aru valley, the route goes on course of main Lidder river, The lidderwat is extension between Tarsar and kolahoi glacier , it is main valley in this region and meeting point of various nomadic peoples for gathering here. The valley is famous for its natural beauty and best climate. Overnight stay in Aru valley.

After breakfast check out and transfer to Srinagar airport for onward destination. Our backpacking vacation will conclude here at Srinagar Airport.
